Pasar Jaya to Add More Controlled Atmosphere Storage Machines

PD Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasruddin will add controlled atmosphere storage (CAS) and cool storage (CS) machines.

The machines will be placed in four markets that spread in Jakarta

These machines that used to store various food commodities, such as onion, chili and meat are only available at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta.

"The machines will be placed in four markets that spread in Jakarta," he expressed, Monday (6/4).

It is deemed will control price inflation, as it can keep a stock of basic commodities.

To buy them, his side has prepared Rp 4.9 billion.

"In details, Rp 4.2 billion is spent to buy controlled atmosphere storage machine and Rp 700 million is for cold storage machine," he explained.

PD Pasar Jaya Public Relations Head, Amanda Gita Dinanjar added commodities such as onions and peppers are sensitive commodities. With both machines, her side can keep the food commodities up to six months.

"Despite the commodity is stored for six months, it won't influence on the quality and freshness of the food," she stated.
